It'll feel terrible for the first few seconds, then run like normal. It has done it on cold starts too, but not as much. It has thrown codes for all four cylinders already but cylinder #1 seems to be affected every time. It throws a code for two to three cylinders at a time. I've replaced the spark plugs and wires with OEM ones and have also replaced the cap, rotor, and distributor (all aftermarket , not sure what brand since I had my regular shop do it). Then last night, I put it in park and started driving at about 20mph and around 1.5-2k rpms then suddenly the rpms dropped to 400-500 for a second or two, then jumped back up. The car wasn't shifting gears and I didn't let off the gas. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here? I'm so frustrated! Idle fluctuates between... Just got my brand new clutch and lightened flywheel installed yesterday. Immediately after I left my mechanics house I noticed some things gone wrong.
1. When I start up the car it immediately roars then drops down to a low rpm, instead of a gradual drop as usual..
2. Idle fluctuates between about 500-1200 in a steady repetitive pattern
3. Sometimes it will randomly find itself and stay around 500 (which is low) but not for long before it starts searching again..
4. Check engine light came on after about 15 mins but hasnt come in since it turned off the at last.

So I check for codes, showed a code 43.. O2 sensor was recently changed I also recently cleaned the Throttle body, Ftv and iacv..
First thing I did was bleed the cooling system. No change. Reset the Ecu and still no change however now I don't see a code blinking..
I would like to add that the car had been sitting for about a month. But I started it about 2-3 times in that month with no idle problems.
Also th mechanic adjusted the clutch cable to initiate the clutch at higher point instead of having the clutch pressed all the way down...

Ive read that i can use my obd1 ls non vtec dizzy on my vtec motor, im to understand that i just need to cut off one of the mounting brackets to modify it to fit where the vtec solioid is located, and just use two bolts instead of three, dose anyone have any experience with this, some say it works some say it wont??


Im also wondering about the intake manifold that came with the motor, its a older style one pr3 intake i think, heres a link to a pic of one
