distributor problem

I own a 99 integra rs and i noticed today a wierd grinding noise coming from the distributor.....i replaced the rotor and cap today and didnt fix the problem....could anyone help me

what happens when the car wont start?

i've got my eye on a 95 sport se but the owner says the distro is done can i just replace the cap and spark plugs to get it back or do i need a new one?

no youll probably need a new one...go to advanced auto parts and order a used one...its half the price

new one=$230
used one=$100

ok im getting a new distributor today...how can i take it off without messing up the timing??

What?!

There's no way to replace a distributor w/out having to set the ignition timing. And ignition timing is absolutely critical. You can't just "do it later".

Luckily it's very simple and you can use a cheap timing light. Make sure you jumper the ECU. Download the repair manual for the procedure.
