Changing an Automatic to a Standard Tranny.
I have an automatic integra 96 (it was a gift as a first car) and i really dont enjoy driving automatics, takes the fun out of it. So i was wondering, i found a 1999 integra for parts, would it be possible to take the standard transmission out of that one and replace the automatic in my car.
Im also new to the forums, i have a side question, please dont answer without my first above question getting asnwered ^^^
my integra is completely stock (that i know of) and the speed-o-meter stops at 230, however i was able to get the car to go 250 (the needle went down past the speed-o-meters limit. how is this possible on a stock? is the car i have chipped and i just dont know it?
Thanks,
-Nic

It is possible, but your gonna be spending a good 3-4 days on just removing parts and modifying everything to fit. To me, it wasn;t worth it. I started to collect parts for the same thing and after noticing how many parts you actually need, you might as well sell it and buy a 5 spd that needs some work. If you do some research VIA google, you'll see a list of all the parts you need. Depending on if you want performance parts or all stock, it's gonna cost you around 800-1200 for everything with the trans being a good $200-$500 depending on which one you use. Up to you though!
For the side question, are you talking about the speedmeter or RPM? They are some high numbers your talking about! LOL!

not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

uh im talking about 250 km/h thats around 151 miles per hour (i beleive, im to lazy to convert it). its pretty fast, it was on the transcanada highway around 2am when i was able to hit that speed, kept it going for about 20 minutes. why is that good for an integra? i thought they all go that fast by default

if you have the time and the tools to do it yourself and know what your doin the conversion can be done in 1 day, if you dont think you can pull of doin the swap then jus buy another car.
as for the second question i have no answer

Dang.. it takes 20-30 minutes for a Honda to reach max'd out retarded speeds while exotic cars can hit 180mph in 30sec maybe less
