scuff it w/ like 600 grit sandpaper...i sprayed everything, then block sanded the letters and voila...easier that way. my pics shows the results

I bought paint stripper to take off OEM paint. (Half flaked off anyways) and one can of high temp block paint ($10 at O'Reilly) and done gaskets while I had it off. $40 job for everything. I don't have a before but here's after

How do you guys clean the vc? I remember when i had my LS one painted it got grease marks embeded in the paint.

Get oil resistant paint for starters. Wear Latex gloves when working on greasy parts. Don't touch painted surfaces when gloves are dirty. get fresh set of gloves when handling painted surfaces. Can also clean with Mineral Spirits if needed.

when i detail my engine...i use degreaser in the engine bay...i usually lightly spray the bay first in mainly to dilute it for sake of the car paint

Wrinkle black needs to be sent somewhere for powder coating for it to come out good anyway :thumbup:
