Something stuck in shift lock release

Recently my automatic 91 integra had been in an accident, I was gone for 3 weeks when I returned there was a broken piece of metal by the ash tray. I later noticed the broken piece was stuck inside the shift lock release slot.
So far I've tried and failed to remove the piece.I haven't found any information on this subject.

Is there any known way to fix this or any tips that could help me out? Really could use it
Any response is greatly appreciated

Tried a magnet?

All that hole gives access to is a lever which releases the shift lock, and its just a hole in the plastic cover, with open space after that till the lever so you could finish pushing it though if you don't need it.

Other than that You have to remove the center console, which requires you removing the 2 kick pannels on either side, the one under the steering wheel with the little ash tray/ coin area, and the one under the glove box, and remove the radio and a few other screws.

Maybe somebody broke their tool that they were using to disengage the shift lock in it?
