Auto to Manual Swap

I was just wondering if anyone has done this swap in a first gen? We're getting a new tranny for our '88 and we thought, why not convert it to a 5spd? Is it worth it? What do you need besides the obvious...?

your gonna need:
The trans.
Linkage rod assembly (any 1st gen)
Manual trans. console
Shifter and knob
Manual ECU
pedal assembly (1st gen)
Clutch slave and master cylinders
Clutch fluid container
Clutch hard lines and hoses
Flywheel and bolts
Clutch set with alignment tool and throw out bearing.
Manual intermediate shaft (1st gen)
Front trans. mount bracket for manual trans.
rear trans mount bracket
Starter for manual trans.
Probaly need Air tools
3 quarts of Tranny Fluid
Shift linkage

Shift linkage is the rod that goes from your shifter to the transmission. Thus making the changing of gears possible. :thumbs up

Not sure if it will be hard to find parts for this. I dont really see a lot of first gens around anymore.

Would it be good to buy a junker G1 that doesn't have that much engine damage instead of trying to find the parts separtly?
