Headers question

In the red circle do i need to bolt that on? Will it do anything if i don't bolt it? The thing that bolts on to it got stripped so i can't bolt it on.

I don't hook mine up there. Never had issues. You could snap the studs off your head though if you bottom out hard enough, but more than likely the header will just bend.
