My Da9 a.k.a Day One

Whats up guys, i'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself and my 90 da9. I'm a huge car enthusiast, I love cars of all sort and from all places, even though i'm still a beginner and i don't have anyone teach me anything about them and or how to work on them. I bought my Da9 about 2 months ago, like any car for a grand, it comes with its problems. The reason i bought it is so that i can learn on my own and work on it on my own. I haven't done anything to it yet, because of the fact that i dont want to jump into something and not know what i'm doing. I want to bring it back from the dead and make it alive again. This is my first car and will be my first Project/Daily baby. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and any suggestions would also be appreciated. I'm here to learn and join the C.I. crew. If the crew can help me grow and learn that'll be great for me. Thank you in advance.

Welcome! That's awesome that you're doing it on your own. Definitely don't be afraid to ask for help though, in time you'll be the one people refer to. Haha.

Thanks, glad to be apart. I want to make it a reliable car as it comes along. It has some problems and issues with it, such as possibly blown head gasket and possibly other things that i'm not sure of. Not to long ago when i turn the car on, it struggles to start and stay on, also my oil light flashes and stays on. I've read that it could be main relay or could be bad fuel pump but i'm not sure because i'm no specialist. It does over heat sometimes and sometimes she's not so hot. I also have a video that i recorded of the car on. It also has an exhaust leak.

I cant afford to just toss a engine that runs away, i'm not that financially stabled at the moment. The oil is not milky but there's oil and water mixing, and i know that because there is some milky stuff coming out of the intake mani.

Sounds like a blown head gasket man. Check the antifreeze and see if it's got some oil in there.

Yeah, i had to confirm, i appreciate it, could the head gasket being blown be the reason for it struggling to start, and sometimes crank but wouldn't start? And also the ol light staying on and flashing? What do you recommend for me to do?

I'm not certain, but that seems like a side effect of it. Anytime you have a fluid in a place that it's not supposed to be (i.e oil in your antifreeze) it kinda throws things off a bit. There's really no way around it, you're going to need to replace that head gasket at some point soon. I suggest you get the price on the gasket and call around to some places that you trust to fix it. Or if you want to do it yourself you will ABSOLUTELY need to consult youtube, clubintegra, ehow, or whatever, to do it right. The problem is that once you get everything ripped apart, you'll need to EVENLY surface the block before you rebuild it all. I don't know your level of experience or what you have to work with, but I know that for most people replacing a head gasket isn't easy, and will take a lot of time to do it right yourself.

But I'm just your common level ricer, talk to the other guys on here and I guarantee they'll set you straight. :D

Yeah the way I put that kinda made it seem easier than it is.
