96 Distributor problem

Hey everybody. I'm new here and have a question...

My 1996 Integra LS stopped starting recently, and I was told by the shop that it was the distributor. They were going to overcharge me for a distributor so instead of having them do it, I found a replacement for much less and decided to put it in myself. I also replaced the cap and the spark plugs, and had a gear head friend help me out.

Well, the new distributor still isn't starting the car... but it sounds much better when I try to start it. I sounds like its almost there, but it doesn't quite start.

Anyone had a similar problem? If anyone has any input, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

seccond make sure that all of your plug wires are run correctly
third make sure that your distributor isnt set 180 deg out.
