Replaced Clutch but cant go into gear

Hello yall. I'm new here so please bare with me.
So my friend and I replaced the clutch on my 99 gs because my clutch pedal was all the way to the floor. so we changed the clutch and flywheel and torqued everything to the recommended specs. we used an exedy stage 1 clutch and a competition clutch 12lb flywheel. after the installation my clutch pedal is still really loose and it feels like it doesn't engage anything until its almost to the floor. the car turns on but when it wont go into gear and it does go into gear when the car is off. I made sure to follow al directions and put the clutch disk the correct way so the clutch plate is not backwards.

You may either need to bleed the slave cylinder for the clutch or adjust the clutch free play. I would bleed the slave first and see if that helps, then look up how to adjust cluitch free play and go from there.
