Engine light comes on after key turned to start position and won't crank.

Pretty much as title says. I turn the key and it wont start and the check engine light comes on. not before like usual. So if anyone has experienced this problem please let me know your solution. 94 obd1 stock everything electrical. i really need ideas here. its my daily and i work soon hah.
