where is my water pump

ok so me and my dad came to the conclusion that my water pump is not working. wher is it on my teg btw my teg is a 99 ls.

Are you replacing it yourself? There should be a water pump/timing belt replacement how to somewhere here on the forum. Do them both at the same time.

see the upper radiator hose is getting hot and swelling up. but the lower radiator hose is staying cold

whats the difference in a non-vtec and vtec water pump
The number of teeth on the gear, and the design of the fins. You cant use a VTEC timing belt with a non-VTEC water pump, and vice versa.

There are no high performance water pumps. There are just water pumps. If you get one with a smaller gear, it will spin faster, but you could end up with cavitation (the reason why VTEC motors have a larger gear, so it spins slower).

Still sounds fishy the pump would be dead unless the impeller came off somehow... It's basically a gear on one side, shaft in the middle, impeller on the other. If it seized up or the bearings went it would have taken the timing belt with it.
