valve cover GASKET?

i had just helped my girlfriends dad replace the vc gasket and little end cap and was wondering how long you
have to wait for the sealent to dry? we used red high temp gasket sealent.

and yes i know i probably spelled sealent wrong. lol

I did mine in the morning (engine cool, car hadn't been run at all that day) and let it dry for a few hours..havent had any problems with it.

when all else fails..read the instructions! :lol:

i did but i was thinking since its in a space were theres no oxygen to get to it....

RTV silicone gasket maker/sealant = Room Temperature Vulcanizing silicone

It is a type of rubber that hardens through chemical means instead of heat. I think it actually hardens or vulcanizes based on the humidity in the air. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.
