wheel bearings wearing out, help

h2kmonst3r

simple is better.
Title says it all. My left wheel bearing is going out, getting to the point where I can't stand the noise. The cost for the left side would be about $164 and both on front double that. So my question is that a decent price? And how hard is it to do this by myself?

i wouldnt press it in by yourself. I would press it out by myself and have a shop press it in for me. the wheel b earing is $40 from autozone and i have those in and they work fine on track days

its easy
take the wheel off
take the axle out
take out the hub 3 bolts to the tie rod, lower and upper ball joint
remove the snap ring
hammer out the knuckle
hammer out the wheel bearing bits
press a new one in by the machine shop
re install

Wheel bearing: $40
Shop cost to press new one on: $20 (I gave a guy this to do it under the table, it really doesnt take them but a minute)

So this x2 and you are looking at atleast $120 if you do it yourself and you can get a shop to work with you for cheap.
