Need Help - No Connection read for Smog

So I went today to get my 97 Integ Smogged
but when the guy plugged the car ... the reading to the ecu said No Connection ...
I dont have check engine light on..
But I do have an LS b18b block with b16 head p28ecu
He doesnt give a shit about the mods.. just need the connection

Posibly converted to OBD1, which would mean the scanner doesn't work.

Same thing happened when to Acura dealer attempted to plug in their machine, but it saved me a $70 service fee.

If you have a p28 on a 97 LS then its most deff obd1. Sadly to be able to read it through the port you'd have to get a STOCK obd2a ecu.

I was thinking that too...is he gonna crank your car up or anything like that? If not you can plug in the OBD2 ecu and as long as you don't crank the car with it in there it won't throw any codes or mess your car up...

ugh.. ill try again next week. hate driving 35 miles to do this haha -_\\
i hope he wont have to crank it

So ive asked 2 people in the L.A area now..
They are not sure how to go about *Fix* smogging my car
since It's OBD1 and the car Requires a Star Smog ....
kinda stranded on what to do now =\
any help ma dudes?

I dont get how chipped OBD1 users dont understand the implications of this.
Theres no reason why you cant run a stock OBD2 vtec ecu to pass smog with.

its cuz the wires are re'pinned and i dont want to go about with the wires again >_<
