Dial connected to engine with slow-Fast

I can get a picture if need be, I bought the teg from a guy and he said he had no idea what it was, I cant find were the wiring goes, but its a odd dial Reading slow to fast and you can turn it to you'r "Desire" I suppose, Iv researched it and i cant seem to find anything like it around. Any idea?

Thats the IAT (intake air temp) sensor. It looks like a radio shack hack to control the output of the sensor. The ECU uses IAT as a fuel trim to adjust for changes in air temperature. In theory if you trick the ECU into thinking the air temp is colder then it would inject more fuel. Super hacky. Cut it out and reconnect the wires together.

Yeah, The guy i bought it from said the person he got it from installed it, But he had NO idea what it was for.

Looking for my next Teg..
probably one of those fleabay product from years past that people actually thought would do something to help their car save gass & get more HP... I think I have seen something like that for just about any car I ever owned LOL

do what Muckman said ditch it and restore the factor wiring :)
