Should I buy my sister's 04 civic? Please input

Sup cl. I'm new here but have been searching on here for a long while. I will be contributing as much as I can now that I have an account, but first, my sister is trying to sell her car and I wanna buy it. I want a second car and think i can profit from selling after repairing it. For $1,000 4 civic lx 200k+ miles. Needs tires. Over heats. People told her she needs new head gasket, bearings, and axle. I told her i can give her $500 and pay the rest whenever. Its a hard decision for me because I hate to see her sell it for so low but I don't make a lota money. Btw here was how my dc looked like.

I'd say $100 used tires $150-200 head gasket $200 bearings and axle. does this sound about right?

What about insurance?

Im a noob mechanic and she just needs the money cuz she got another car

I dont know. I guess ill have to get insurance if I want it.

So then what would your plans with it be?

Have it to be reliable while I clean up my integra and keep it clean. Oh and also to enjoy 30+ mpg on the civic

If you can get it fixed and maintained for cheap, I would say get it.

But if you know that you can't maintain it properly, you might be buying a headache in the long run.

Sounds like a major headache unless you know what you're doing.
