Shifter question

Is there something I'm missing here because the rubber part won't fit over the lip there and all the heat comes in from the hole

I'm pretty sure judging by the bolt holes that there's another component missing or there's supposed to be a different boot there, It's raining or I'd go check in my car myself.

This is the only pic I got from google, No help...

Looks like it may be an auto to manual swap and they welded the wrong plate it. But idk

Looks stock to me.

I don't see any cuts or welds or bends unless it's under the carpet.

Just ziptie the bottom of your boot to the body. If that doesn't work get a larger bolt out of a junkyard off a pickup or something.

It was an auto. Thats the auto tunnel. Those bolt holes are to hold the auto shifter. Put heat tape to fill in the gaps for now.

I figured that's what it was. I've never seen what it looked like underneath the auto shifter, but I knew it was too big to be the manual.
