Do I paint or remove these black side skirt type moldings?

Hi everyone,

I did some searching but was unable to find the threads i was looking for on this. I recently picked up a 96 LS.

I'd like a "cleaner" look somewhat and something that's bugged me since I got the car was the black side skirt trim pieces on both sides of the car.

You can see what I'm referring to here; in between the wheels, located under the door

I'm curious what your opinions are for making that go away, either by painting, replacing or removing them entirely.

Thanks for your input!

its really up to you since its YOUR car but my opinion is to paint them to match rest of the car...but thats just me of course

With painting a trim piece, do you have any suggestions on prep work so the paint adheres correctly?

Paint them, it looks much better. The Type R is the only one that came from the factory painted for some retarded reason.
