Short-rams take in hot air which causes you to lose power
Cold-air - Takes in cooler air instead of engine heat which may give you little gains

I would have to say K&N is more popular.. A&E right behind it.

The design with all ofthem is somewhat the same, so I don't think you'll see much if any gain between the three.

Doesn't k&n only make a short-ram with a heat shield? I'd go with the AEM cold air

Go with a CAI and a k&n air filter, man.

Short Ram sounds better though, you could hear your engine much more loud when you mash out.

The question is does he want sound, or performance? I have a cai and it's pretty loud lol

Just a little heads up. If this is your daily i highly advise against a cai. Their are to many horror stories out there of guys just driving along in the rain and catching a puddle and bam , Hydro locked. Than your out a motor.

Get a 2 piece intake...SRI in the winter and CAI in the summer..it just takes 5 minutes to convert to each one.

that's only if your stopped or idle on a puddle -__- constant motion no, and the filter has to be completely submerged under water.

Or make a DIY Icebox. Best of both worlds. I have the AEM cold air, and I think I'm going to make an icebox and just sell the aem.

Short ram intake into your stock airbox, velocity stack and filter on the end, then pvc pipe from behind your turn signal up into the air box. The pipe will pull cold air into the airbox, then your intake will suck in the cold air. The velocity stack makes it flow all that better. Gains of a cold air, sound of a short ram

i've had experience with sri, cai and an ice box . The cai sounds bad ass/feels better during accelerating. The sri is easy to clean. The ice box is both .
