Default Raceline USA | Round 2 | Buttonwillow Raceway Park | 04/08/12

Now that Round 1 at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway has come and gone, it's time to get ready for Round 2 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on Sunday, April 8, 2012!

Having a successful 2011 season, Raceline USA will expand our activities to include more events for the 2012 season. More road courses, more challenges and more fun. It will be exciting as we introduce our new B+ Series, Club205, and R Challenge Series to challenge our clients that do not wish to spend a lot of money to compete with other drivers.

Open track is the easiest way to learn how to control your vehicle at the limit. Beginner driver should not be afraid of being on track with others on the road course. We have 5 run groups of varying skill level for our clients to feel safe and confident. As our clients hone in their abilities, they also have to opportunity to move up in levels. Each level is on the road course for 20 minutes a session and is rotated from Level 5 down to Level 1. There is plenty of track time for all to enjoy.

Date: Sunday, April 8, 2012

Registration: Registration is now available!
Sunday, April 8, 2012: $120.00

Timing Transponder Rental: $20.00

5 Levels to choose from:

Level 3: 4 - 6 take day experience (point-by passing)
Level 4: 6 or more take day experience (point-by passing)
Level 5: MUST CONTACT RACELINE FOR ELIGIBILITY (open passing)

This multi-tiered structure works very well in separating all the different skill levels. We provide a safe learning atmosphere, where an official is always monitoring for misconduct and aggressive driving. Infractions are logged and reviewed with our clients during classroom style discussions throughout the day.

B+ Series:

This is a chance for lower powered cars to participate in a challenge series. Everyone that has a timing transponder (may be rented from Raceline) is automatically entered. Track times are taken from the Level you signed up for. B+ is the cheapest way to have a friendly competition between drivers in a non-racing, non-contact way. Drivers just run the course normally in our sessions and we take their best time throughout the day. No special run groups or qualifying time to meet. Just go out and do your best.

Class is based on weight to power ratio with a twist. Weight in lbs. divided into horsepower and torque average to be no less than 18:1

Example: 2000 lbs. divided by 110 which is an average of 120hp and 100tq = 18.18:1
205 max tire width. 140 min utqg tire rating. Weight scales will available for use at all events. Drivers must weigh in after each session to record compliance.

Participants may protest event winners for Dynamometer test results. Testing to be performed at Raceline USA on a DynoJet 224x chassis Dynamometer (2wd only). Loser pays a $75 fee.

Factory Approved / Dealer sold aerodynamic enhancements even if discontinued are allowed.
No external reservoir dampers.

Typical Entrants:
1984-1987 Toyota Corolla (AE86) DOHC 1.6b
1985-1987 Honda Civic / CR-X Si (E-AT E-AS) DOHC 1.6
1988-1991 Honda Civic / CR-X Si (EF) SOHC DOHC 1.5 1.6
1989-1996 Mazda Miata (NA NB) DOHC 1.6 1.8
1992-2000 Honda Civic (EG EK) SOHC VTEC 1.5 1.6 DOHC VTEC 1.6
1990-2001 Acura Integra (DA DC DB) DOHC 1.8 2.0 DOHC VTEC 1.8

Club205 Series:

This is a chance for moderately powered cars to participate in a challenge series. Everyone that has a timing transponder (may be rented from Raceline) is automatically entered. Track times are taken from the Level you signed up for. Club205 is an affordable way to have a friendly competition between drivers in a non-racing, non-contact way. Drivers just run the course normally in their sessions and we take their best time throughout the day. No special run groups or qualifying time to meet. Just go out and do your best.

Class is based on weight to power ratio with a twist. Weight in lbs. divided into horsepower and torque average to be no less than 14:1

Example: 2400 lbs. divided by 170 which is an average of 200hp and 140tq = 14.11:1
265 max tire width. 100 min utqg tire rating.

Aerodynamic enhancements are: rear spoiler no higher than the roof, nothing extending rearward past the rear bumper, nothing extending forward past the front bumper, nothing over the front hood / windscreen area and nothing may scratch the road surface. Front canards are permissible if no wider than fenders.

2way / 1 compression adjuster and 1 rebound adjuster per damper max.

Typical Entrants:
1989-1997 Nissan 240SX (S13 S14) SR20DET
1992-2000 Honda Civic (EG EK)
1994-2001 Acura Integra (DC2)
1995-2006 BMW M3 (E36 E46)
2000-2011 Honda S2000 (AP1 AP2)

Honda Tuning Magazine R Challenge:

Open to all Honda/Acura Type R models. 4 lap battle at the end of day. Participants qualifying order
based on lap times throughout the day. Fastest qualifier starts from the front of the pack and winner is
determined by finishing order at the end of 4 laps. 1st out lap is counted and is a full course caution.
Registered owner must drive their own vehicle to qualify in the series.

Raceline USA / Super Lap Battle (SLB) qualifying events:

New championship points layout.

All participants are automatically entered (optional timing transponder needed).
Points will be awarded to drivers to determine the winner at the end of the season.
Champion in each class will be awarded a SBL invitation for the finals in November.

Not a problem bro. Always fun kicking it with you. Hopefully we can hit the track together again, but with my DC4 next time.

Dope! I'll let you know when I'm down for Thunderhill. Right now, I'm getting DJ ready for WSIR. Thadya didn't rent a transponder, but she used an app on her phone to record her lap times. She said she was doing around 2:30-2:32. It seems about right from what I've seen when I was out on the track.

-____- i totally thought DJ was a person then i remembered you are like me and name your cars loool. Yeah she came up to me and i kind of felt bad cause i didnt understand she was on the board, and knew me from it. I kind of gave her the 0_o face at her. I think next time ill be able to set a better time in the low 2:30s with a clean track. I kept forgetting you had to keep it in vtec and where my redline was at hehe! And, of course that was the first time I really drove the motor in a spirited way, since Elton fixed the 4000rpm rev limit the day before.

It was fun tracking with you guys! I wish I saw the special pricing for the two track events. It's a steal plus you get free timing. Oh well I'll wait till the next one comes up.

Glad I got to finally chat with you guys (Matt and Dylan) in person. Hope we can track again soon.

The Track Junkie special also counts if you sign up for WSIR in June and BW in August. So it's not too late to register for the special.

I think I could've gone under the 2:20 range if I had better brakes and tires. Not bad for being a 100% bone stock Civic. I'm excited to bring the DC4 out to WSIR in June!

Lemme see if I have enough funds by the offer exp date. I'll be used to my steering wheel by then too. I felt that I didn't turn enough on some of the turns lol.

If you want to go to both Round 3 (WSIR) and Round 4 (BW), the Track Junkie Special is definitely the way to go. Plus you also get free timing at BW. BTW, what steering wheel are you running?
