1989 Acura Integra won't start sometimes

Sometimes it starts right up other times it takes several times to start. I sometimes put it in reverse and I then can hear the fuel pump fire up and then it starts right away.

it could be a loose connection, you should check the fuse box

gears have nothing to do with the fuel pump. is it a crank no start or a no crank no start issue when it happens.

I ment more electrical then gears

id say test fuel pressure. if its below where it should be then you needa pump but alittle more info would be needed to properly diag this concern

check your main relay its probablt that because i had the same problem before
