Default Timing Belt snapped! Align what with what?

Need a bit of help guys. Reading past posting has always answered my questions but it looks like I need some direct question answer help.

Just starting to drive off and the timing belt snap. I'm familiar with all the bad that can happen, but every now and then a leprechaun comes along and sprinkles a little bit of luck and valves/pistons aren't damaged (I know, a shot in the dark). And since this is my beater car I want to simply change the belt and see how it all turns out.

What I need to know, since everything is out of time, what marks am I aligning with what? I ask because every resource says "don't turn _____ or the timing will be off." Nothing I have explains if everything is out of alignment what to line it up with.

Thank you gentleman and ladies.

The b16 is nearly identical to the b18, so yes you should be able to follow those instructions

Im sure it is, but while your replacing the timing belt it would be a good time to change the water pump. And there is a difference when it come to that. LS/GS/RS are all the same but GSR and Type R are different.
