why do people turbo ls engines?

why do people turbo ls engines with no vtec isnt that worse than turboin an ls vtec?
is it because an ls can handle that power or what someone please explain haha

Its because ls motors have less compression, so when you boost it there is less wear on the internals

The b18 is pretty good for turbos as far as running stock internals on about 10 pounds, and if you just put arp rod bolts in you can rev that bitch to like 9 grand on a good tune. i would not recommend boosting a b20 tho

Probably cause they are a more common motor, cheaper to get your hands on and can make plenty of power when built right...
