car won't start

my car wont stay running, it just starts then shuts off. i turn the key once and the radio doesnt work but the car attempts to start so there must be some power

check spark and and see if your getting fuel. check fuses and all the small crap. could be a loos wire or something

Do you hear the main relay "clickin"? or the fuel pump primin'?

yes its getting fuel since i tapped the gas alot to see if it would chance anything but i smelled gas from doing that. my mind is stuck on ignition switch os distruibitor

check the rotor in the distributor. sounds more like a disributor if its atleast starting. dont think it would be the ignition switch

Check plugs, wires, cap, rotor etc. if you are certain it's not fuel related. But by the op it sounds like a weak fuel pump or something. When did you change the fuel filter last?
