ECU Programming(1991 Integra RS)

I have a 1991 acura integra rs with a b18a... and i swaped it to a b16a that came off a 1998 civic hatchback and i was told that i need to program the computer so it is in sync with the distributor becuase the engine is not starting at all and iv had 3 mechanics tell me that it was the computer that needs to be programmed and i have no idea what they are talking about and one mentioned the CPU??....I would appreciate the help and thank you..
I have spark ..fuel pressure..and oil pressure...

He's talking about ecm.

Engine control management.



Now you still should be able to run with the b18 ecu but not well.

I would start with checking all your grounds and fuses.

Check your timing, maybe your plug wires are in the wrong order.



Now, when you say not starting at all. Can you be specific?

Is it cranking?
Is it starting and immediate dying?
Does your fuel pump prime?
Are your injectors all plugged in and function properly?


Also check your vacuum lines and make sure they are all routed properly.
