Need help identifying GSR tranny

Need alit help....just got a tranny wit no marks or vin...with out opening it up how can I tell if ita a real gsr??

Theres 2 ways, one is to do a burnout and see if you leave 2 tire marks, or you could look through where the axle goes and if you can see all the way through, then you have an lsd so its either a Type R. or more likely, a GSR.

That still doesn't tell him what kind of trans it is. He'll need to pull the case and count the teeth of the final drive. Also, if it's a Type R or a GSR hydro trans he'll need the conversion being that he has a cable clutch car.
I think he was trying to tell if the trans he has is a true YS1(GSR cable trans).
