Need help unknown sensor

I was swapping out cooling fan switch and noticed there is a sensor of some sort next to the fan switch with a black cover or boot around it with a single yellow wire coming out of it and noticed the wire is cut . I have a 91 DA.

Looking for my next Teg..
commonly Idgits will cut or disconnect the wire to get rid of the flashing or dimly lit Oil pressure warning light rather than trying to figure out what was causing it.

My last DA the old owner had disconnetced it to hide above issue. & after much research & testing of oil pressure I figured out my ICU was shot.

Replaced it and my oil pressure light and sensor worked great...
