what is a dizzy?

I know this may seem like a dumb question but I'm new to this whole import stuff and can someone please explain to me what the hell a dizzy is?

Its the distributor. Its the black box that all your spark plug wires plug into.

I think dizzy is what you get when you spin in circles too many times, or if you drink too much.

Ok cuz my car has been cutting out when a smash the gas and I've replaced the plugs wires tps and fuel pump and the fuel relay switch and its not throwing a code so tomorrow I'll go buy a new distributor and cap
