Won't engage gears!

Okay so this morning i back out of my garage okay and left on the driveway to warm up.
So i went back into the car and try to put it into gears but it wouldn't let me. The clutch is in but
also i notice something different when i step on the clutch like its hard and there this slight stop
right before it's push all the way.
Any suggestion is appreciated

About 6 inches above the trans. Trace the cable to the firewall and you'll know it's right.

thank, found it but cant find a resolution..but i am thinking it might be the clutch cable. can that be the problem?
i could see the clutch pull at the adjustment so i think that is okay?

will i had one of my friend to come and check out my car and why it wont engage the gears when the engine is turn on and he said that the clutch plate is bad. can that be a reason why it would not shift into gears?
