Won't shift at all

Hello crew,

So I'm new to this whole Acura scene. I have this problem that I don't really know how to approach.

So my pops was driving my car when it failed. He told me that the clutch was slipping a bit. One day he was unable to shift Into any gear. The clutch pedal is functioning normally. I can start the car, but when I shift I can not engage at all. I was thinking it was the clutch so I bought a new clutch. I felt like I completely overlooked the mechanical linkage between the shifter and the gears. Just to add some background. That shifter was more lose then a $5 hooker at a truck stop. I would put it in first and it would then place it self back in neutral lol. Would you guys have any insight as to what it is?
Btw I'm buying the bushings to fix that sloppy stick

Energy suspension shifter bushings. It's terrible that you could describe your mother like that :D

Yeah bro, just the bushings. Make sure everything is nice and tight; unlike your mother once again
