Ive been getting the p0171 code on and off (yes it will literally turn off and then come back a few weeks later). This code says that the vehicle is running lean despite idling fine and driving fine. I don’t believe it is the o2 sensor because whenever I got to fill the car with gas, I take the cap off and it lets out a huge release of pressure. I don’t believe the fuel tank is venting and able to replace the lost fuel with air as the fuel is used.
