    JZNSN2U's NSX

Very nice NSX! I still drop by every now and then, but not enough activity to really have much to say.

Alternator charging battery up to 19v

It sounds like the voltage regulator on the alternator isn't doing it's job.

    Worth fixing or no?

I'd do a compression test to see if the engine is even worth fooling with. If the top end is trashed, I don't know if I'd bother with it. Like mentioned above, replacement engines could be had for cheap, or use it as an excuse to upgrade.

    Potential damages

I think I'd be sure to never take my car to that guy again. I would also not pay him one cent for shoddy work like that.

    Potential damages

That's exactly what turning it over will do, bend the valves. Of course you'd never know if that happened when the belt broke or if it was caused by trying to start it.

    Potential damages

How do you come to that conclusion? The starter engages the flywheel, which turns the crank making the pistons go up and down out of sync with the valves. That can cause pistons to ruin valves just as much as anything.

    Dead Cylinder

0-30 psi would be one heck of a bad cylinder/piston/rings. lol That's about bent valve or improperly set lash low.

    Dead Cylinder

If it was a head gasket you'd likely have contaminated oil. Check the oil for signs of coolant, if nothing is present then a leakdown test should tell you exactly where it's going.

    Phil's Lawn Care...In Progress.

That's off the Trinity River in east TX, the lower 100 acres or so floods like that every so often. Makes it a real risk to plant anything because you will lose it all, but it's also what makes the ground so good. Above the flood line it's all hybrid coastal bermuda, then we overseed rye in the...

    Phil's Lawn Care...In Progress.

So you like rye grass? Here are a couple before and after shots from some rye grass action last year. From full on flood, disked, then in full growth. Red arrow pointing at a deer stand for reference since the pictures are all taken of the same field but different angles. The top of it is 16'...

DIY: Air box mod and Ram air.

I'd be real cautious about rain, that is a direct shot into the intake.

    VIN Check on Transmission

Oh, I thought since you wanted to look up the VIN, that meant you had the VIN. If you don't, then all you can do is open it up to check, or drive it and see.

    VIN Check on Transmission

If the transmission still has the correct VIN on it, it is easy. A GSR will either have DC2 or DB8 in the VIN. An LS/RS/GS/SE will have DC4 or DB7 in the code.

    B&M short shifter?

They are easy to install and feel nice, but the regular short shifter places it too far forward. It makes for an uncomfortable position. The dual bend helps that a little, but if you're tall and have the seat pretty far back, you'll probably still find it awkward.

    Stolen license plate. Help

Like R13 said, those tamper resistant torx come right out too. The tamper resistant hex doesn't work so easily with a screwdriver. Or use the one way slot headed bolt, they are hard to get out without having the correct tool or modifying the head.
