You can't just eliminate limp mode altogether with the stock ecu though. You could eliminate it by switching to a chipped ecu, with a stock map and limp mode disabled.

If it sounds like a rev limitier, it in fact going into limp mode, which means its a sensor or wiring to a sensor. Check for bad connections at pins, nicks in wire, sensors, etc. the only way to truely know what's going on is if you could somehow pull a code. Why not wire up a lightbulb to the...

look on ebay there are some itm pistons, which are oem but they come in like .030 over. are you able to do that work yourself? do seals, bearings, and have the machine shop determine if a bore is needed, or you can get by with just a hone. i did my oem rebuild for right around 1300, head was...

you dont need that high volume oil pump. a stock one is MORE than enough. you can buy the tools needed to swap the motor for less than 1k. get a decent engine hoist-300? 150 piece mechanics kit-100? 1/2" torque wrench and sockets-another 100? tthat leaves you another 500 to throw around on tools...

i replaced the main relay, replaced ignition switch, changed the fuel pump, and filled it up above half way and that fixed the problem. when it shuts off, try turning the key to the start position instead of off.

it does not seem to be fuel related, as sometimes it happens going in to the corner as well. the car usually has atleast 1/4 to 1/2 a tank. it doesnt sputter, it just shuts off like the ignition cut off. i dont think its the ecu, because the gauges stay on.

i have a 91 ls with a b18c1 swap. i race it on an oval track, and every other lap or so the car shuts off. the gauges stay on, but the motor stops running every other lap or so. it usually only happens coming out of the corner. ive replaced my fuel pump, main relay, distributor, and computer...
