well, either you can either take it to a mechanic and have them adjust your timing, or get ahold of a timing gun and adjust it your self.. you ecu isnt gonna magically correct the timing =[

I don't know what you or the op are referring to, but if your cam timing slipped somehow, then you need to rotate your crankshaft so that #1 and 4 pistons are at top dead center. Then you need to adjust your cam gears so that the little lines on each one line up with each other. Put your belt back on, and your done.

If your ignition timing is off, which wouldn't have a dramatic effect on anything, just line up the marks on your distributor. There really isn't a need for a timing light on these engines, unless you have dramatically changed something in your motor, where advancing your retarding your ignition timing is going to make a significant difference.
