Autozone lying about burning oil?

Never put any kind of additives in any of your fluids and never use any of that BS fuel system cleaner. It's all a big scam. A lot of it will even cause further damage to an import. On American cars it may work but that's because American cars rely on gunk in the motor to keep them together.

Other than that, what he told you is accurate. He should have been more clear that it was his best guess and you will have to confirm it with proper diagnosis. But yeah, that significant of an oil loss isn't going to be something so simple as a valve cover gasket kit. I had a pretty significant leak on the seal behind the flywheel and even that didn't cause much change in the oil dipstick between oil changes.

Forum advice is slightly more accurate than autozone advice.

If you replaced the spark plug seals and valve cover gasket- try the cam seals.

Most likely your rings or valve stems need replacing. At which point it's cheaper to buy another motor and rebuild the new motor on your spare time. Once the motor is rebuilt you can swap the motors EASILY in a weekend.

If it's the valve seals, it's not cheaper to rebuild the whole motor...
