B18a1 motor build

hey everyone im new here. i got a 91 ls with the b18a1. its got almost 200k on it. looking to rebuild. i wanna get a little more power out of it but still keep the good fuel milege what should i do. looking around the 200hp range. suggestions?

A small turbo build is really the only option

An all out N/A build might hit 200hp if you build it right.
Or you could go with a small turbo build and easily hit 200hp.

i have always been told you gotta get rid of the ac unit to do a turbo? what is the reason for that and is there a way to keep it?

That is not true. It depends on the turbo manifold that you use, some let you have A/C and P/S, and some let you have neither. When shopping for a turbo manifold just be sure that they allow both. A simple log manifold would probably be best for you.

actually you never HAVE to remove P/S, only A/C. I personally like my car with out P/S though, Its more fun to drive.

so its like Prozon said, depends on your setup

and as far as ps goes, you get a better feel for exactly what the car is doing with out it, thus most all out track cars dont have it
