B20, tranny swap gsr 2 ls.whats your take?

Sup guys i have a 96ls b20 my 3rd gear on
My stock tranny is out i got a hold of a 98 gsr
Tranny for 550$ im super happy with it but i want
To know a little more about it.
•good price?
•hows the gears?
•good tranny choice for my b20?
•whats it speed at top of third?
•rpms?

N no the tranny comes from a respectible shop..
Its a 98 db8 gsr tranny..

Strange, my GSR trans sits at 3k @ 60 and 4k @ 80. It should be more around 3-3.5k @ 80 with an LS trans.

Tegge, if you do a lot of highway driving you may wanna consider swapping the 5th gear out of your bad trans (if the 5th gear set is in good shape) to the GSR one to keep the final drive ratio down. You still get the benefits of 1st through 4th for acceleration but lower RPM's in 5th for highway driving.

I honestly don't know, as long as the gear is in good shape, it's 5th, it really doesn't get abused. Typically when re-building one of these transmissions, the gears get re-used unless they are damaged.
