Bad cat

So i think my cat is done it rattles like crazy at certain rpms and my cel light has come on but i cleared it. P0420. Should i hollow it out until i get a new one and should i get a high flow or regular oem one. All i have done is aem intake and fujitsubo cat back

Bump. I have the same problem as you dude. But I don't hear any rattling. Does your engine knock pretty bad as well?

You cleared it how.....

hollowed cats don't flow any better (if worse) than a stock one.

With a scanner... It kept coming back so said fuck it. Still looking for a good cat i was gona get magnaflow but i heard they suck

Yeah your catalytic converter had an issue, pressing clear on a scanner isn't going to fix that.

Hollowing it out isn't going to fix it

An aftermarket car may throw different readings than what the o2 is looking for, so that may not fix it.

Replacing it with the correct one or deleting the o2 sensor (not recommended).

Or research what else could throw that code.
