brake lights work, but not tail lights on 91 integra

regarding a 91 integra; when my headlights are on, the tail lights dont work. but the brake lights do. all other rear lights are working, inc. backup lights. seems like 1 set of lights for brake and tail. any thoughts, or am i looking at a daytime car only now?

try changing the bulbs.. the same thing happened to one of my tail lights.
it has to do with one of the little light up things (i know theres a word for those, but i forget) in the bulb itself, and both of them don't have to go out at the same time

Your bulbs probably need changing. They are double filament bulbs, so one bulb does both tail and brake lights.

It could also be brake light switch on the pedal.

^^^^well he said the brake lights work so it woudnt be the switch by the pedal...def try new bulbs should fix it

its gna be your fuses. check all of em and 1 is blown out just replace it
