Can I chip an auto teg

The Kev

Vtec? I have V-TAK! Son..
I don't see why not...Most drag cars nowadays are automatic...

But when dealing with racing chips or ECU's, it is best when the vehicle has a manual tranny...

What specific examples of "chips" are you talking about? If you mean something off eBay that promises 20hp, then stay away because that's complete garbage. If you mean something like hondata where its soldered to your ecu, then yes. You can tune automatic cars.

Yes you can chip it on OBD1 auto ECU. Look into Xencron and one other but can't remember. For standalone Mo-Tech and Greddy Ultimate. For the jumper, go custom. Not many company deal with auto.

Hondata won't work for auto.

eCtune is the only ROMeditor I know that supports automatic trans. But yes the ECU can be chipped no problem. Many manual trans hondas use Auto trans ECUs because they are cheap and available. Its the auto trans control that is the issue.
