cd player resets

i just got a pioneer cd player and it works good an all but i cant get it to not reset after the car is turned off. it makes no sense. theres 3 wires that arent attached to anything but none of them work. the yellow wire coming from the back of the deck has to be connected to the same power wire as the red one from the back of the deck or it doesnt work at all. so frustrating. what can i do to fix this?

So your saying . When your driving your car or when it's on you can set the radio settings and stuff but when you turn it off the settings erase ?

yeah exactly! i can set the radio and when i turn the car off everythings deleted. i know theres suppose to be a wire that saves that stuff well keeps power to the head unit but i cant find it. my car was stolen an they just ripped everything out. could i Run a fused, [10A] 12ga line from the batt. and connect the HUs yellow to it, cap off the stock radio harness 12V constant so it can't short out?
