CEL p0700, p0740, what to do?

700 - transmission control system malfuntion
740 - torque converter clutch circuit malfuntion

previous owner said the transmission was rebuilt at 60,000km from acura, its at 192,000 kms now..

is it okay to drive the car or should it not be used? the car drives fine, the code wont clear.

Does the transmission operate normally? No signs of kickback/upshift flare/slipping/ etc?

Do you have a "substanial" transmission fluid leak?

Plain and simple, this could be an easy fix (solenoid,connectors,harness) OR this may be a very costly fix ( removing the transmission to replace a 99 cent O-Ring)..

I would recommend visiting the dealer for a more accurate diagnosis.. it might not be as bad as you think
