Hi, just wondering what the differences between the cold air and short ram intakes were in respect to performance, etc?

Thanks

theyre both whack....get an icebox. ram airs are good but once your engine bay gets too hot, all its doing is sucking in hot air. heatsoak and youll lose power. cold airs make great power but its a hassle when it rains hard and you have to change it to avoid hydrolock. youll make almost as much power with an ice box if not more. that way you dont have to worry about the heatsoak or the hydrolock

thanks thats really good information. btw, what is hydrolock? thanks again
It's when your cold air intake sucks up water and it goes straight through the filter and into the engine causing your motor to choke and gag like a porn star. Some people think its kinky but it really isn't too great for the motor.

if you dont want to make one, then theres mugen or comptech, but its pricey.. if youre not handy with these kinds of things you should get started! youll save some money in the process :)

btw nice diy!

just llike jznsn2u said water gets sucked up your intake. if it gets really bad water will flood your cylinders..water doesnt compress..all your valves get bent. i have a full length cold air intake and i like it, souds and looks cool. just stay far away from deep puddles

For the intake to suck in water, the filter has to be complete submerged in water. Which means that you'd have to be driving in water that's about 2 feet high.
