hello all I would like to figure out what is wrong with my da. well i was commin down to the last light by my house pressed in the clutch stopped at the stoplight, than i tried to put it in first gear...nothing, can shift through all the gears freely...when i let out the clutch pedal i can hear the clutch engaging [i think]...any help would be appreciated.

try ajusting your clutch cable

Ummm, I'm thinking it's either your clutch cable needing to be adjusted like previously stated, or it may be time to get a new clutch kit.

Since all applicable advice has been given, the only wisdom I have to share is that if you see an Adam's apple and a chump lump, its for sure a tranny. That is all.

ok thanks guys, do clutchs just go out randomly in these cars? in my old escort [haha] it went till it wouldnt grab anymore...

It shouldn't just work one second perfectly fine, then stop working instantly, that leads me to believe there could be a bigger problem if it isn't your cable

ah i checked the cable seems fine has tension, i adjusted clockwise then counter clockwise no difference. I move the shifter freely but on the right/left back sides [like 3rd and reverse] it seems to almost go into a gear, but wont...Im thinkin shifter linkage? any thoughts? how would i go about checking that? or do i gotta pull the whole tranny?

Will not move. Has ha the issue for a couple months now but I needed to save somee money...sucks drivng my 8mpg camino lol.
