DB8 harness question

I have a 98 DB8 shell that I picked up and I have a 2000 Gsr dc2 and I was wondering if I could swap the wire harness and be the same I also read that 2000 is obd2-b as to where the 98 is obd-2-b I kinda need a little clarity on this subject. Thanks in advance

no need to swap harnesses the obd2a/b i think only applies to the ecu connector. All you have to do is get an obd2a to obd2b jumper

Okay thanks the db8 is just a shell so if I swap everything I should be good. Now would going from OBD2-A to OBD2-B cause me to fail smog?

no. they should still be able to connect the obd2 scanner and pull info.
