ECU questions.

i have a 2000gsr
what kind of ecu does it have?
what is obd1 or whatever that is?
what does a chipped ECU do?
basically i need to know what this thing is and what it does. thank you

as long as u or the previous owner didnt get a aftermarket ecu then it should be stock
on the passenger side bottom front, take the cover out then ull see the ecu in there
then ull see if its an aftermarket ecu or not

- OBD1 is the older (pre 96) diagnostic system
- chipping an ECU alters the fuel curves and ignition timing in an attempt to better tune the engine to it's needs

If there's more fuel being used then your mpg will decrease...
