Engine Swap Wiring Question

nugget

I Love My Toyota.
So some of you may know that I'm doing a swap on my Integra. its a 1995 SE Auto with a B18B and im putting in a 98+ Spec JDM B18C. Before I drop it in, I have a wiring question that I want to get out of the way. My car is an OBD1 and the new engine is a OBD2. I was told by the guys at JDM Source in calgary that all I needed for the swap was a jumper cable to convert from OBD1 to OBD2. He told me to use my current harness on my car and not the JDM spec on that came with the motor. is this correct?

Also, with the engine being from a right hand drive vehicle, will i need to extend the wiring to bring the ecu to the passenger side? I've also read on a few threads saying that I need a USDM 96-01 wiring harness... can anyone confirm this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
