Hi guys i recently bought a 98 GSR and it was driving fine until today. Im parked and i can hear grinding, Its in neutral btw. I then try to shift it into 1st gear and i think its in(sometimes it grinds when i put it in sometimes its smooth) and i give it some gas and it pops out and starts grinding again. Is this human error? or is my tranny having some problems right now?

If it is grinding when idling and not in gear then your transmission is broken. Yes, broken.
My friends dad had a 1st gen RX-7 and idling with the clutch out caused the transmission to whine and grind, very very loudly. 2nd gear would always grind and turned into a heap of metal shavings which were floating around tearing up everything else in the trans. He had to replace it.

Sounds like your first gear is torn up pretty bad. Your trans casing is probably getting chewed up which has the outer race of several bearings built in.
My advice is to start looking for a new trans.
