help, bad idle, running rich

my car is running really rich, idles badly, and lacks of power... does anyone know whats wrong?

How is the air filter? And also a full tune-up couldnt hurt. Also, for ppl who know more ab this stuff than i do you might want to post your cars year, tranny, engine, etc

The CEL (Check Engine Light) Is something that says "You Have A Problem." You need to figure out what the code is and correct the problem. Is 97 obd2? If you cant get Pepboys or Advance auto parts to pull your code you need to jump the plug under the dash and read the blinks of the CEL and figure it out yourself.

It may be telling you that the O2 sensor is bad, but I would replace anything until you figure out what the code is there for.

Yeah mirrorimg is right man, don't go throwing parts at it because it's just gonna make you more mad when they don't fix the problem and you're out more money. Start with the cel and go from there
